REOG PONOROGO CULTURAL PERFORMANCES IN CCP

The Indonesian Embassy in Manila, in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) present a cultural performances by Kelompok Pemuda Krida Budaya of Ponorogo, East Java entitled Reog Ponorogo in ASEAN Park, CCP complex last March 20, 2005.

The reog performance, consist of 24 dancers including a 6 years old child, featuring a mask made of authentic head of a lion decorated with large peacock feather on top of it and weighing about 50 kilos and colorful costumes.



Two cultural performances were performed by the group which lasted for almost an hour each, with the first performance started at 5:00 pm and the last one at 6:30 pm. In between performances, a miniature Reog mask is presented to the President of Cultural Center of the Philippines, Mr. Nestor Jardin by Hon. Sanusi, Charge's de Affaires of Indonesian Embassy - Manila as a token of appreciation by the cultural group from Ponorogo.

 

Aproximately around 500 people watch the said performances.
