VISIT OF PRIME MINISTER OF TURKEY TO INDONESIA, 6-7 FEBRUARY 2005
Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip
Erdogan, and his entourages will pay a working visit to Indonesia, from 6 to 7
February 2005. During the visit, Prime Minister Erdogan will have a bilateral
meting with the President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Presidential Office
in Jakarta, meet the Vice President and also will be visiting Aceh to observe
the tsunami damage.
During the bilateral meeting, 7 February 2005, both
leaders will discuss matters related to the bilateral cooperation, including those
for post tsunami disaster.
The Government and People of Turkey have already
dispatched their aid packages and social workers to Aceh. The Turkish Government
has sent US $ 1,250,000.00 to countries hit by tsunami (US $ 600,000.00 for Indonesia).
Turkish Red Crescent Society, Istanbul Municipal and Konya Municipal in Turkey
have deployed social workers to tsunami devastated area in Indonesia. Turkish
Prime Minister Office also dispatched two military cargo aircrafts to transport
food, clothes and medicines for tsunami victims in Indonesia.
Indonesia
export to Turkey in the last three year is US $ 237, million (2002); US $ 263,7
million (2003) and US $ 229,4 million (2004). Meanwhile Indonesian import from
Turkey is US $ 22,7 million (2002); US $ 48,5 million (2003) and US $ 39,3 million
