BALI  DEMOCRACY  FORUM

Bali, 10-11 December 2008

 

 

            The Bali Democracy Forum is a novel initiative, launched by Indonesia on 10-11 December 2008 in the Grand Hyatt Hotel Convention Hall, Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. It is aimed at the promotion of regional international cooperation in the field of democracy and political development amongst countries in Asia. The president of the Republic of Indonesia, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will preside over the inaugural session and will invite a number of leaders from the Asia Pacific Region.

 

The Bali Democracy Forum is expected to contribute to the pursuit of the democratic ideals through dialogue and practical cooperation. It is an institution dedicated to promote regional and International cooperation in the field of democracy.

 

Accreditation/Registration

 

a.   Accreditation is required to representatives of recognized media agencies assigned to cover the event. 

b.   Application forms (can be obtained from Indonesian Embassies/Representative Offices  or can be downloaded from www.deplu.go.id) along with a letter of assignment from the Editor/Executive of the Media agencies and 2 (two) current colored photographs (3 x 4 cm) should be returned by 4 December 2008, 5 pm (West Indonesian Time) to the following address:

c.   Those who send their application form through fax are to put their e-mail address (if any). The applicants are to present their original documents when collecting Badges. 

d.   Accreditation badges (ID) may be collected at the Media Secretariat at Grand Hyatt Hotel Convention Hall on 9th December 2008 and must be worn at all times in a visible spot.

Visa Requirements

 

Journalists/reporters are required to apply for a journalist visa at the nearest Indonesian Embassies/Representative Offices.

Media Pool

 

For covering the Opening Ceremony and other `open session' events, photographers and cameramen will be given access to enter the venues. However, should the space availability does not permit, Media Pool may be applied. In this regard, special media overpasses will be issued and they must be worn at all times together with ID Badges. Others may observe or follow the events at the Media Center in which CCTV will be provided.

 

Media Center

 

a.   Media Center will be located at Hyatt Hotel Convention Hall and will be operational on 9 December at 9 am. Selected documentation, including statements, speeches, press materials and announcements will be available at the Media Center. 

b.   Upon request, Media Secretariat at the Media Center will also arrange Press Conferences, Press Briefing, and Press Interview by official spokespersons. Media Secretariat will also facilitate Press Conference, Press Briefing, and Press Interview for other delegates on `first come first serve' basis. 

c.   Media Center provides computers with internet accesses.
 

Accommodation and Travel Arrangements

 

Media representatives will be responsible for their own travel arrangements, reservation and payments of hotel accommodation.  The participating hotels in support of the conference are:

Customs Clearance Requirements

The lists of equipment must be legalized by Indonesian Embassies/Representatives for importation and exportation purposes.
